Specializing in Sikh weddings, our experienced team is adept at documenting the unique traditions and joyous celebrations of Sikh Wedding. Serving London, Birmingham, Manchester and surroundings, we take pride in our ability to provide exceptional Photography and Videography services that cater to your specific cultural needs.
Getting Ready Shots
A typical Sikh wedding day starts at the crack of dawn. One team begins at the bride’s house, capturing the intimate moments of her getting ready, as well as family shots, before they head to the Gurdwara. Meanwhile, another team starts at the groom’s house, documenting his preparations, including the ceremonial tying of the pug (turban) and the Kalghi (ornamental plume). We pay attention to every detail, from his attire to the journey in a limo or on horseback, and any band performances along the way. Our goal is to creatively capture all the rituals.
Milni Ceremony & Breakfast
Upon arriving at the Gurdwara, we prepare for the Milni ceremony, organizing and positioning guests on either side. Milni is where the bride’s family welcomes the groom’s family with garlands and sweets. After this, breakfast is served at the Gurdwara for friends and family before they proceed to the hall for the religious wedding ceremony. Our Platinum Package includes pro sound capture to ensure every moment is recorded with clarity.
Gurdwara Wedding Photography & Video
Gurdwara staff often praise us for our professionalism, as we move unobtrusively without interrupting or blocking proceedings. We know the best angles and positions to capture the entire ceremony precisely and creatively, whether it’s Groom’s & Entrances, the removal of the Kalghi, the paat (recitation), the Phere (circling the holy book) or sometime Civil Marriage at the same time..
Couple Photoshoot in Wedding Outfits
After the ceremony, if time permits, we conduct a couple’s Photoshoot to create cherished memories.
Drink Reception
At the reception, we start by capturing the venue décor. If the couple has changed outfits, we may do another Photoshoot. As guests arrive and enjoy the drinks reception, we ensure every moment is documented. We film the couple’s entrance from the best angles, using a gimbal, mini jib/crane, and tripods with various lenses for a cinematic effect.
Cake cutting & First Dance
The cake cutting is a pivotal moment that kicks off the wedding celebrations, and we are always ready to capture it, along with gift exchanges, guests congratulating the couple, group shots, and the Roti ritual. The first dance is a highlight, and we take special care to capture it beautifully.
Speeches require clear audio
During the speeches, it is crucial to film from various angles to capture the speaker, the couple’s reactions, and the audience’s responses. Clear sound is essential for a high-quality production, so we use our Zoom microphones on our Platinum Package to ensure excellent audio.
Bhangra Time
We also document the lively dance floor, preserving those joyous moments of celebration.
Doli
The Doli (farewell) is a poignant and sentimental time as the bride leaves her home to join the groom. We typically have a team dedicated to capturing these important rituals. If pre-arranged, we can also film the bride’s arrival at the groom’s house, where traditional games may welcome her into her new home.
Should Bride & Groom Side have different Media Teams?
When filming a Sikh wedding, it is crucial to hire a single company with a cohesive team that can seamlessly blend their styles and collaborate effectively. This coordination ensures the best results, allowing space for photographers to take their shots without interference. Our teams are trained to work together to create a captivating narrative of your special day.
Another benefit of hiring a single company for both the bride and groom’s sides is that when editing the final film, we have a complete picture of what was happening at any given time. By seamlessly blending these moments, the story flows beautifully. Capturing only one side leaves the story incomplete, missing vital parts that cannot be seamlessly integrated, ultimately diminishing the sense of togetherness and joy in the final experience.
Pre-wedding Photoshoot
We also offer a Pre-Wedding Photoshoot for the couple, providing a great opportunity to work together and understand their preferences. This session yields stunning photos that can be used for reception screens, invitations, prints, guest books, and more. It also allows us to determine their best angles and discuss their big day in detail, including any special instructions.
Pre-wedding Cinema Shoot
For lively, camera-loving couples, we offer a cinematic video shoot in addition to the photoshoot. This creative video, set to their favorite song, can be played on the reception screen as a surprise before the entrance or to kick-start the wedding celebrations.
Jago, ChuRa, Sangeet and other Pre-Wedding Events
We also cover pre-wedding events such as Jago, Haldi, Chura, Tael, Sangeet, and more. We offer discounted prices for pre-events, provided we have availability, so early booking is recommended.
Cinematic Wedding Highlights
Our photos and films tell the complete story of your wedding day, allowing you to relive and cherish these moments for a lifetime and beyond. Our cinematic wedding highlight summaries are very popular, allowing family and friends from around the world to share in your celebration.
